Adelaide-born Dave Fletcher, a Nebbiolo enthusiast, moved to Piedmont in 2007 to pursue his passion. After gaining experience at Ceretto, he now produces innovative, regionally characteristic wines in Barbaresco’s old train station. His latest project, Cantina della Stazione, features old vine Favorita from 60-year-old vines in the Bricco Capre vineyard, Alba. Harvested in two rounds to balance freshness and fruit intensity, the wine is fermented with natural yeasts, whole bunch pressed, and aged in seasoned Burgundy barriques for 8 months. It offers aromas of white flowers, citrus, and flint, with flavours of creamy lees, white peach, and nectarine, resulting in an intense, bright, and tangy wine with a silky, salty finish.
