Bannockburn Chardonnay 2023

Bannockburn’s 2023 Chardonnay is a blend of estate fruit sourced from vines spanning 1976 to 2016, representing various vineyards including Olive Tree Hill, Winery Block, Stuart Block, Grigsby, and Kelly Lane. The wine underwent whole bunch pressing before wild yeast fermentation in French hogsheads and puncheons, with around 20% new oak. Malolactic fermentation occurred for 70% of the blend, and the wine rested on lees for 10 months prior to bottling. It presents a lively bouquet of stone fruit, citrus, and mineral notes with hints of yeast and pastry. Balanced spicy and smoky wood flavours complement the fresh and bright palate, characterized by mouth-watering acidity and depth, showcasing its youthful vibrancy and future potential.
