Bindi Pyrette Heathcote Shiraz 2022

This vintage marks a significant stride for the Pyrette, showcasing its heightened expression. The fruit continues to be sourced from the Colbinabbin vineyard, a tradition that began in 2001, alongside contributions from the Col Mountain vineyard since 2014. Following a similar winemaking process to the Pinot Noirs, the Pyrette incorporates approximately 20% whole bunch inclusion in the fermentations, a departure from the usual zero or close to zero inclusion for the Pinots. The 2022 vintage presents remarkable complexity, offering beautiful aromas of mulberry, red and dark plum, spice, and graphite. The medium-weight palate exhibits flair and intensity, with fruit power propelling a structured and firm finish. These wines exhibit enhanced qualities with eight years of cellaring, extending their drinking potential for many years thereafter. However, they also offer immediate enjoyment with their medium weight and harmonious character.
