Newest release from Yarra Yering, how lucky we are to receive allocation from their 2020 vintage!
96% Shiraz, from the original 1969 plantingsand a sprinkling from vines planted in the1990s. 3% Mataro and 1% Viognier, planted from 1984 to 1995. Harvested by hand and destemmed, whole berries dropped directly into open fermenters. Aged in 30% new French oak for 15 months before blending and bottling.
The cooler 2020 season brings complexity in droves, a waft of savoury notes that meet their match in the perfumed scent of dark purple fruits and warm spice. Firm, yet fine tannins support the summer pudding fruit, with texture to boot. Impossible to pin down, incredibly unique and an excellentaddition to the Yarra Yering catalogue.
