Yeringberg Viognier 2022

Viognier is a recent addition to Yeringbergs impressive line-up, but under the careful guidance of Sandra de Pury, its already carving out its place as one of the estates most captivating wines. Unlike the often bold, heavy-handed style typical of Viognier, Yeringbergs expression is all about balance and finesse. The wine opens with a hedonistic bouquet of ripe nectarines, apricots, and glac ginger, gently lifted by hints of white tea and lemon verbena. The palate offers a rich, textured mouthfeel, but it remains light and poised, thanks to a subtle, saline freshness. Barrel fermented and matured in old French oak for 10 months, the wine has enough complexity to evolve beautifully over the next few years, but its already drinking incredibly well now. This is a refined and elegant take on Viognier, showcasing all the varietys best characteristics without being overbearing.
